PENS: Parents Electronic Notification System

"Bring the parents closer"

This is the first mobile School Broadcast system in Singapore. The aim is to promote better communication and thereby fostering a stronger community relationship between the school and parents. This is the Teacher-Parent Relationship Management Tool.

Designed to facilitate teacher-parent communication, this helps the working parent keep updated and involved in his/her children's educational interests. It allows our teachers to keep the parent informed directly of the students' progress and of activities programs in the school. This closer interaction between school and parents increases involvement and cultivates a sense of community. As our dedicated software is integrated to the school's computer system, all information is kept confidential as the school is in control of its own wireless media.

Attendance Notification

Attendance notification is one of the services that parents would appreciate. As soon as the class teacher marks the attendance, parents of absent students are requested to acknowledge his or her reply through our WR Interactive SMS. E.g. "Are you aware that your child is absent from school today? Please reply '1' for YES and '2' for NO." If the answer is 'YES', the scenario ends here. If the answer is 'NO', the school takes due course of "student care counseling" and the parent can also respond to the situation appropriately. Latecomers and Skip lessons features are also included under the attendance notification.

Information Broadcast

This helps manage the flow of information to both parents and teaching staff. It keeps them updated and informed of the latest information and happenings in the schools from declared school half-days to special functions. It can also be specifically tailored to alert individuals of their unique examination schedules even to the extent of an exam today reminder. In the event of emergencies or critical situations, it provides a quick and easy route to disseminate information.

Parent- Teacher Interaction

The aim is primarily to improve teacher-parent communication. How often does a parent complain about not knowing the activities that are being held in school? How often does the teacher complain about ineffective communication between the school and parents? Here we aim to allow the teachers to keep the parents updated on the student's education and school's programs. It also enables proactive parents to retrieve information about the school such as school holidays, important dates or other information, thus providing Information On-demand for parents.

Results Announcements

Schools Results will also be made available through mobile phones, avoiding the need to return to school during vacations or the inconvenience of crowding round the notice board.

Attendance Printing

Not really now! Together with our attendance tracker, the system will able to churn out a daily, monthly and yearly attendance report.
