How can the reminder application help me?

WorldRemind has developed an innovative free Internet service that allows users to send reminder messages via email, alphanumeric pager and SMS. This service helps to remind you or your friends of anything and everything - appointments, business meetings, and even special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. An address book is also available for you to store your contacts' particulars. Simply choose your recipient(s) by clicking the checkbox to send a reminder.

What other Interactive Services do you provide?

Interactive SMS is basically an automated system receiving your SMS query and reply you with the information, which is also via SMS. We have many useful Interactive SMS services such as Bus Navigator, Postal Code Enquiry, Traffic News, Muslim Prayer Times and etc. Click here to find out more details.

Great! So how do I start?

By registering with us at, you will receive a username and password via email. Use that username and password to logon here and you may start sending your reminders. As a FREE using member, you start off with 2 SMS reminders per date. In order to increase your usage, you may wish to upgrade your account to PREMIUM. For more information, please click here.

Elaborate "per-date"

Assuming today's date is 1st Nov 2001 and you are allowed to send 2 reminders per date. This means you may set 2 reminders for 2nd Nov, 2 reminders for 3rd Nov and etc, within today. This also means that you need not wait till the next day to set another reminder because you are done with 2 today.

Elaborate SMS

Short Message Service. Using SMS, a short alphanumeric message (160 alphanumeric characters) can be sent to a mobile phone to be displayed, much like an alphanumeric pager system. The message is buffered by the GSM network until the phone becomes active.

How much would that cost me?

For a FREE member, WorldRemind will bear the 2 SMS reminders per date charges for you. To increase your usage, you may wish to sign up with us for a PREMIUM account. Please click here for more details.

As for Interactive Services (only to PREMIUM account holders), the possible cost induced would be the SMS charges provided by your service provider. Let's say you want to know about the traffic news, key in ROAD to +6598247169. The SMS sent from you, to our automated system will probably cost you 5 cents (most Singapore service provider charged at this rate). And you need not bear any charges when you receive the SMS.

Do I need a special mobile phone or have it equipped with special feature or service?

99 percent of the mobile phones in the market has SMS facility. As long as you are under the GSM 1800/900 network, you are able to utilize our Interactive SMS.

I do not have a mobile phone but a computer. Can I still receive SMS reminders?

No you cannot, as SMS reminders require sending to a valid mobile number. However, you can always use our Email Reminders if you have an email address.

Ops! I lost my username and password! What should I do?

You can always use our forget password section to recover both username and password. Simply key in your username OR registered email address, and your username and password will be posted to you via email.

I tried to compose a new reminder, but there is no recipient for me to select from.

Probably your address book doesn't have any. Here is what you should do.

- Logon with your username and password
- Click on Contacts
- Key in your first contact, followed by his/her email, mobile number or pager and click Add.

Pls note that FREE and PREMIUM member can store up to 20 and 100 entries in their address book, respectively.

Do I really need the address book if I can remember my friends' email addresses and mobile numbers?

You can always ignore the address book if you know to whom you are sending the reminders to.

Here is what you can do to send a SMS reminder:

- Logon with your username and password
- Click on Reminders
- Key in your recipient(s), adding a comma in between for more than one, in the Recipients textbox. E.g. 987654321,98988787
- Specify the date and time of the reminder
- Specify your reminder message
- Click the Send button

My SMS reminders were set at 2pm and it came only after 3pm, what went wrong?

There are times when SMS encounter transmission problem and could be delayed. WorldRemind only act as a middleman to dispatch the messages to you, but the final route for the message to reach your mobile phones will depend on your service provider.

I was trying your Interactive SMS, but have not received any reply after several hours

Again, SMS transmission is not guaranteed. Either the SMS sent from you or to you could be lost during transmission. Try sending your SMS again.

Hey! I tried to logon and was notified that I am banned. What's going on?

Members are advised not to use any vulgarities in your reminders. Not only will your reminders not be sent, our automated system will also mark you as a banned user, prohibiting you from logging onto the web site.
